Default Fast File sharing over WAN ?

is it possible ?

i have an internet connection using "PPoE" - WAN Miniport

I am connected to my Server via a network cable and Network CARD

The interent connection is Fair enough (considering the money and time i spend)

Some of my other frens belong to same network... so i was thinking, since we are in "WAN" can we connect to each other and SHARE files ? faster?

by using some sw or maybe using ip address.... or network folder ?

HELP... lost here !!! (by the way.. file transfers pretty fast in messenger)
__________
Help me.... please

Default Re: Fast File sharing over WAN ?

If netbios is not disabled over network, you can use ipmessenger ( a small chat program) which automatically detects the other computers using ipmessenger. You can chat or share files through that. Alternately, you can do the normal sharing if the netbios transfers are not taken off from the network.
