Question System Startup Problem............

I have PIII, 256 RAM, 40GB HDD, CD-RW, Realtek LAN, 350W SMPS
running WinXP from last 3 years

But from some days
my systems dosent start properly
i mean to say that
whenever i start my pc in the morning it hang while booting screen or while winxp screen
it even automatically restarts while booting only
ya it start normally in safe mode
but not in normal mode
after pressing restart button 5-6 times it starts, but it never starts in 1 attempt
So now at the time of shutdown i hibernate it
& doing this my PC starts in 1 attempt but after working for 5-10 min its freezes/hangs
nothing works their
i tried all the possible ways like scandisk, chkdsk, disk defrag, antivirus
even i reformatted my drive C but it dosent help

so after this i thought may be prob in my HDD
ir refer this thread
http://www.thinkdigit.com/forum/show...665#post414665
& downloaded hdtune_253 & checked my Harddisk
but it did'nt help

I am unable to identify whts the prob is

Tried testing the memory chip? A faulty RAM can be the cause of many problems.

Download and run memtest86 to check your memory.

Run Memtest86

simply a RAM or SMPS problem.. as i think..
i already had this problem...
-----------------
just remove ur CPU casing and remove RAM chip from the slot.
then clean the slot and fit the chip into slot.
and give small jerks to chip.. like u r trying to fit it..
and then try to start ur pc...

sometimes.. if the ram have some probs or it is not properly set then ur pc can hang... i solved this way bcs my RAM chips were ok.. if ur chip(s) is(are) gone then sorry bro..u need to chnage it.
-----------------
and for smps... u need to check it with some local vendor or computer guy...

but i think that u shld try to change ur RAM with some others for testing..(ur frnd or so).. so u can track if ur RAM is ok or not...
