I'm quoting the latest (1 month back wem i got my system ) prices in INDORE , MP . U should not pay nething 9over these prices . I'm recommending the best. If availability is an issue I am also suggesting alternatives at the end .This is a long effort .Hope it helps . Ping me wat u decide n post the performence .
Prices suggested by KAUSTAV GEEK r a bit higher @me.These prices were obtained by me without much bargaining & I have even ADDED rs 50 here n there to wat I was actually offered to make it more conservative.
Proccy -AMD Athlon64 3000+ = 3510
Mobo -MSI K9N GM2(onboard nvidia 6150GPU) = 4300
Ram - Hynix 512MB@533 MHz = 2400
HDD - Hitachi Deskstar 7K8080 - 80GB = 2000
ODD - Sony 120 A (something like this)= 1950
Montr - Samsung 15" CRT = 3600
KB+Mouse- Microsoft combo = 800
Cabinet - Zebronics Adonis(400 watt PSU)=1000
Speaker- Creative SBS 240 = 500
This comes to Rs. 20060 . I think this is a very good config .
Other Suggesstions:
1 Speaker/headphone - if u like listening to music then good 2.1 spkrs will be at around 2000-3000. check(live listening demo ) creative/logitech/Altec Lansing/Artis. Ppl usually suggest creative SBS 370 (price 1150/1200 in Indore) for budget config . But if u ask me its not at all up to the mark . Get something better Creatve Inspire/Intrigue , Logitech x-230 (this is good but costs 2800 ) . these speakers r personaly chkd n good for listening music .
Otherwise get any cheap intex/frontech/typhoon speakers between Rs 200 to 1000 . At around rs. 900 u get decent spkrs frm them.
If its just serving a function get spkrs at Rs 200-300. will suffice.Chk Creative SBS 240
2 RAM - prices have probably fallen recently . But I'm giving 1 mnth old prices.
Hynix is a decent brand . If u want Transcend(mine)/Kingston its around 2850/2900.
3 HardDisk- Hitachi model recommended above is best 80 GB . if u want 160 GB go fo Samsung Spin point for 2850. There is hardly much difference in prices n performance across brands . So choose 80/160 as per requirement.
4 Processor - 3000+ is decent & in normel surfing/office applications dual core wont make much of a difference . But if at all u r to need dual core
go for AMD Athlon64 X2 3600+ at Rs. 5950(mine).
5 DVD writer - u can even go for combo drives . Most guys hardly copy DVDs. its usually CDs for mosr of us . Combo drives can be had for 1200.
In DVD writers LiteOn is pretty good. But usually not available . BenQ has 1 of the best (in fact best) DVD writers (models 1640/1650/1655).
Sony is universally available n also equally good hence this is recommended.
I'm not sure of the model. Its the latest 1 .( later than 830A). Ithink it is
GW 120A or maybe DRU 120 A - at around 1950/2000.
6 Monitor - 15" otta be enuf. 17" non-flat CRT frm Samsung around 5400/5600. 17" FLAT CRT Samsung/LG - 6200/6100.
7 KB+Mouse - Microsoft is better though Logitech combo is also priced 800.
Other local brands r also decent n CHEAPER . check the ones from Intex, Frontech,I-ball, Zippy's . Chinese stuff used by Cybercafes is also very cheap n good . Consult some cybercafe owner n save 200 -300 bucks.
8 Cabinet - Zebronics has decent 400 watt psu.The model is 'ADONIS'.
If this aint available check Intex/frontech/microtek/Blues MF/I-ball in same range.
9 MOBO - MSI K9N GM2 is the best onboard mobo both price n performance wise.Insist on this n this only . If unavailable go for ASUS M2N PV MX (rs4800) or M2N MX (rs 4200).(i had to go for ASUS ). These r also equally good, but costlier.
10 UPS - in case u need 1 . Numeric Digital 1900 . Mictotek/PowerCom etc 1600 to 1900 . APC 2000. Dont make much fuss abt it get a cheap 1 at 1600 .
