Default Need osme info about hub

Hi,
I have two PC in my home...& Have BB(DataOne) ADSL modem, I just want to buy a Ethernet hub to share the Internet and file transferring between them.
So if any one can please suggest some info about a decent hub (not very costly) and the specification like manufacturer/Price/no of etho port & what to mention to shop-keeper like standardization like 10base-t or 100 base-t or what ever ?

I have 2 Intel machine with it's normal integrated lan port.no gigabit lan.
Any link will be helpful.
Thanks in advance

If your modem supports USB connectivity, then the best and the cheapest option would be to connect to internet through that USB while connecting both the computers through the RJ 45 cable directly. No hub required...

dlink hubs r gud ..
i m using intex hub..
also buy the rj45 cable of dlink only (best performance)
shud be around 10 rs/metre...(crossover cable)
one more thing
nowadays..modems are coming with 4 ports.(if u r paying rental for adsl modem)...
also most shopkeepers wudnot understand 10bse and all that..

thanks for the info....Thank you all.
One Last doubt.
The Internet ADSL access made via Hub....
So is there any decrease of line speed by increasing of noise/attenuation causing for the hub which will sit middle of PC and ADSL modem?
Currently I am in 256kbps UL900+ plan and getting 30kb/s download speed.

Please confirm.

No, there will be no noise/attenuation due to the hub in the middle. The modem will adjust to it if present slightly. I gave seen 7 PC's and 1 Laptop connected to the HUB and using the BSNL 900 plan. There is no problem. There will be decrease in speed only if you use both the PCs simultaneously for surfing...
