Me too have a huggggeeeeeeeee heap of DC, Marvel & Archie comics.
I tried to scan them up for safety. Ya.. it's the long route. But my prreeccious comics'll b with me for longer. Books age and get yellow with time. Restoration might destroy them.

Read this, this & this... will help to an extent

But the major probs within the book itself. The way they r made. It'll go yellow with time.

Why not digitize them? It will take time, but if you can, scan them and save them as an eBook, either as cbr or pdf. Thats what I did with all my old photographs..

Digitizing them is the way ahead. You'll have a lot less headaches that way!

But hang onto the print ones - they'll resemble an antique in no time.
