Default Your Computer Might be at RISK ?????


I am using Windows XP Pro SP2.
Nd I hav turned the automatic updates OFF, but then at evry startup, it shows a msg that ur computer might b at risk and an [color]RED[/color] Icon always present there. How can i remove that?

Just set "Security Center" service to "MANUAL" in Services.msc

Simple.
Goto Control panel->Security Center
From the left panel select Change the way security center alerts me.
From here you can uncheck all the options for no popups during startup.

do check out if its the windows security center icon. if yes then above method. chances r yes, since u have turned off the auto win updts, the sec centr is reminding u...

else it could be a rogue program ! so reconfirm pls.

Yes its the red balloon one. I think its windows security Icon.

click on that red baloon and click on change the way security center alerts me and then uncheck all the three

delete =red in that and watch it get red color

its like this [color="red"<] [/color] (remove the < symbols)

btw why do you want to Turn OFF the Updates, you can select "Notify Me but dont automatically download or install them"

this applies if you have Legit XP
