hmmm... most of it looks ok, but do u really need that floppy drive. I mean c'mon, its totally outdated. And as far as keyboard is concerned, why don't you try the TVS Gold keyboard. Man I have seen many keyboards but I didn't like any of them as much as this one. Is a bit expensive at about 1350 something. Check it out.

@khandu:: 915 MObo with AGP will b very hard to find...
Gigabyte offers one model with AGP,but dunno whether its avlbl here or not...
& MORE IMPORTANTLY:: Y not get ATHLON64???
Check out this story:
http://www.techtree.com/techtree/jsp...?storyid=57069

Altho, it refers to a gaming system but inspite of it,they have made a pretty good config...
Buying a Intel soln at this point is not a very good idea IMHO....

915 & 925 both chipsets don't support full agp

the gigabyte model , the G.E.A.R slot is simply a AGP slot cos AGP is also PCI based, so it has a max bandwidth of 133 mbps only

I would suggest if U can pay , go for athlon64 FX 53, with a Asus or gigabyte nforce4 motherboard, select this as there are many models, with different components (RAID or no Raid)

I basically want a rig with AGP slot and gaming purpose.. cause i already have a AGP card so i dont need a new one..

The full system should not go beyond 30k - 40 k

I would like to be on the lower side

915/925 have PCIexpress, ur current AGP wont work on it. Besides, PCIe cards are very rare.....

if u opt for 925, u hav to get DDR2, which is DAAAAMN expensive....

just go for Athlon 64 3000+ and a ASUS K8V-X

I'll second that, there's a bundled offer for the Asus K8V-X and AMD 2800+ for 10.5k right now. Nuthing will give you better value than this. Think about it khandu.

The 9600pro Will Not Work on the 925 Series as The PCI-E Architecture dosent allow it But Rather There Are Some cards Which Run On The Agp-PCI-E Bridge Meaning it will Actually Work On Ur Agp Slot as Well As The PCI-E Board(Acting Like The Agp)

And Nope u Cant Put ur Standard Simple DDR On this board as Both Of These Rams(DDR And DDR2) Have Diff Clock Speeds and Working Mechanisms And also The DDR2 is Said To Be Costly and Not as Fast as The Currently Available DDR SDRAM

Also To Add The AMD 64 Would Do a Breeze For now Dun Go For The Fx As They Are Costiler Pairs and Deliver almost The Same Performance.....And The K8V Mob's Is Always a Winner with This Processor
