On 'Avatar' copyrights

Hi,
I am using a avatar from the digit gallery. I want to edit it a bit and use it for my avatar here. So, can I do that? Are the avatars copyrighted? :roll:
Ofcourse, I am not a great editor, but I want to add a bit of my own to this one and upload it to some other server to use it here.
Can I do that? Help me.(If allowed don't laugh at my new avatar! I told you I am not good at editting,but I want to have a piece of my own art.)

hmm actually i sent those avatars to raaabo I got them from some avatar site. So it should not be copyrighetd.
BTW I love to make my avatar but my current avatar is not made by me. I just love it

it's easy to make avatars just get da pix u want to make avatar fireup PS and in seconds u have ur avatar
