^^I have used NetBeans in windows and I think its the best IDE for java and its free too. I tried eclipse in Linux but it was just too confusing and also quite heavy.

I have used both Eclipse and Netbeans. Eclipse is more flexible and extendible but it is very heavy and I dont recommend it. Netbeans on the other hand is much more lighter and is provided by Sun. Better use that.
