Cool regarding laptop

please tell me the better one between the two combos
core 2 duo 1.66Ghz + 512MB ram + Nvidia Geforce Go 7400
(features in sony vaio c series)
or
core 2 duo 2 ghz + 1Gb(2*512MB) + ATi Mobility Raedon X1600
(features in ACi Matrix 1500)
please comment on the reliability and versatility of ACi laptops specially ACi MAtrix 1500 as compared to sony and hp laptops.
the primary motive behind me asking this question is the graphics card survey which DIGIT had conducted some time back in which ATI based cards(X1600) seemed to loose out to geforce 7600 as far as frame rates for games and value for money is concerned

i will prefer Sony just in case u can have a ram upgrade to 1gb...
