Question how to customize folder


if somebody knows this then we can customize folder in win98 by custimizing the folder as html and then we can edit that folder.htt as we want and now in windows this function is not availabe. i need to know where the hell this folder.htt in winXP or what is the alternative method to customise a folder? what are GUID? can i use them to create a new kind of folder with diffrent option like task schedular?

coz those so called webviews hv been removed in XP and the code has been hardcoded in the Shell
Webview also depends upon the Visual style, u r currently using
U can take a look at this little application to enable the webview:

I never checked it, so pls check it and post the result.

if you are talking about folder background then here is the trick:
create a desktop.ini file using notepad and put this code into the file:

[ExtShellFolderViews]
{BE098140-A513-11D0-A3A4-00C04FD706EC}=
{BE098140-A513-11D0-A3A4-00C04FD706EC}
[{BE098140-A513-11D0-A3A4-00C04FD706EC}]
IconArea_Image=F:\My Documents\My Pictures\o_dreamfall_2_7.JPG

change the last line accordingly to the path of your image. then copy n paste this file into the folder you want to set background. this will do the trick.
