I am interested in putting up a website with a forum like think digit along with it what process shoul i follow

Getting a good host with a cpanel is all you'd need. Just enter cpanel and there will be a method to install a forum automatically on a database

Buy a domain, preferably .com can get for as low as Rs. 350/= Then purchase webspace also available within same range. Install phpbb (free and best). Can be installed from cpanel as told by QM.

Do I need to say anything more after you guys have posted the answers? But you guys didn't mention 2 things:

1. He can buy domain name and hosting from me
2. There are also free hosting options available like http://www.zeeblo.com. (There are no free .com providers )

Of course, there is a hugh question mark over zeeblo's reliability now after so many people lost so much data. But it is up again.

Secondly, there are some free forum provider where any one can have his own forum. Search Digit forum and you will find some providers.

Starting a forum is easy. But from where do you plan to get members? There are thousands of forum out there already!!

Before making a forum, question yourself - Why would people join your forum?? What your forum will have, what other forums don't offer?? As, there are 100s of forums with 1000s of members on every topic, answering these will help you promote and create your forum or, in the end you will find a lot of time wasted!
