Hi ppl,

I purchased a sony vaio VGN-FE28H a couple of days back and i wanted to format the installation that came default.. Its coz i ahve german version of the OS!! I am in Germany and left with no choice. I also wanted to install linux along with windows and so when i tried to do it using partition magic, i saw this

the first part where there is no volume number or drive location allocated... what does that mean? can i erase the whole of the hardisk and start partitioning again? i dont want to get screwed now coz its new year time and so eveyr shop is closed here!!! u understnad?

I suspect that the first partition must be some sort of recovery partition. If you are going to reinstall windows and linux then simply delete all the partitions, install windows first, and then linux
