Default how do i delete a write protected file?


when i re-installed my windows xp professional after my earlier copy waz corrupt...it left a few files , one of which is my user thing in windows xp...whenever i try to delete it ...it sayz make sure the file isnt write protected or in use. HOW DO I DELETE THIS?
Also is there a software by which i can get complete details on my hard disk...like where the space is going n stuff...??

nope dosent do me any good...nuin happenz wen i do the who lock me thingie...even if it starts workin i still wont b able to delete the damn folder rite..?

y dont you try restarting in safe mode and then deleting the file ..

it even this doesnt work .. then i think you shud get a CD of Linux and try to get access to files using that ..
This will work for sure !

why does everyone advise a linux live distro
get a bart's pe made for urself
be easier to access ur ntfs partitions
ull have to mount an ntfs partition separately in any linux distro
