Default AVI problem

Hi there
I am trying to convert the VCDs into avi format using virtual dub.
Sexy software isnt it.
Now I am using divX codec.
But the problem remains that the movie that comes in two cds is not converted into such a small size so that it can be stored in one cd.
Can anyone tell me the bitrate of audio and video and the picture size so that the movie can be converted into one cd.
i.e the movie size should be 650-699mb.

Use The Xvid Codec.....Its Quite Good.....And For Audio Its Better to Go For The Mpeg Layer 3 Bitrate at 112 or 128Kbps As Its The Video Cd U Wanna Compress Or The Ac3 Compression Was The Best For DVD's 8)
