N-GAGE QD

Hi, i wanna buy N-GAGE QD Handset. Is there any better set at its price.
Are gaming on these type of sets enjoyable.
Otherwise which is the best handset (any company)
between Rs 5,000 and Rs 10,000.
Reply as soon as possible.

well frankly if you are gonna go for the QD one
then id say NO
if you are going for the NGAGE normal one then OK
see well the games playable on ngage is definately
playable
but ofcorse you wont get those amazing graphics you get on the pc
well these games are available on MMC cards
each game card cost around 800-1000 rs and upwards
you can also download games (java based)

the QD model sux because 1stly no Fm in it
if you want to play MP3's on it you need to installal a application
which will eat up precious and already scarce phone memory
but a one thing good abt it is tht the game mmc card slot
earlier the normal NGAGE had this disadvantage i.e whenever u want to
play a game off the MMC card u had to shut off the phone and put the MMC in

well in mumbai the QD costs around 10k
while the normal ngage cost around 9k
i suggest if you really want a ngage
you go for the normal ngage and not ngage qd
i say so because
the normal ngage has FM can play mp3 no need to install
a application for playing mp3
looks better than the QD
but this the normal ngage is not available through nokia showrooms you need to buy it off the grey market since nokia india has only released the ngage qd here
onething is that this phone would surely kill tour boredom whenever you need to
and also bluetooth adds more value to his phone
all in all a great device especially if you are a gamer

Frankly no phone will match N gage's feature and price....
For around 9k u get a some really good features.
and no cell is better than this one, except that of n gage, but as techno_funky said it is difficult to get, even i grey market.
But u dont miss much, all u dont get is Fm radio and in built Mp3 playback facility.
And remember n gage QD is developed from n nage and it has many improvements. The n gage is bulk and difficult to handle and catch it.

one more good thing in N gage QDis that u have a great speaker phone and the sound is stereo. U can also connect the audio-out from other playback device and use it as speaker aslo. The sound is great!

My brother too has n gage QD and it is a amazing phone.

Yeah, u have multiplayer options too via bluetooth.
Remember the n gage QD gamming competion that nokia had last year, it was amazing sucess and many buy n gage only for it gamming thing. It has a big screen as well. Games will preloaded when u buy from nokia priority dealer himself. Or u can download java games also.
i summarize and tell why gamming will be enjoyable:

** Big LCD display.
** Multiplayer options.
** five way joystick. And the keypad customised for better gamming experience.
** Compact (unlike n gage)
** u can swap the MMC without switching off the mobile. Hot swapping is possible.
** Preloaded JAVA games, which u can get free from nokia dealer.
** n gage QD is a symbian os phone.

Sorry i can recommend only NOKIA handsets.
* Go for 6610i which costs only 8k and resonably priced.
* or better still if u can get 7250i at around 10k. 7250i is a symbian 40 series phone.

Ashish go for n gage QD itself, it is a great phone. i can tell u it is amazing, my brother has n gage QD.
Or u want any alternatives, go for nokia 7250i.

i own a qd and think its much better than the original

advantages>>
available at any nokia dealer with 1 yr warranty
mmc hotswapable without turning off the phone
compact
better build quality and much sportier
brighter display
mp3 player can be downloaded will take around 500- 600kb
better battery (1070mah vs 870 mah for original ngage)

disadvantages>>
no fm (but do u need a cellphone for fm radio u can buy mini fm headsets fo rs.50) also u can use online radio if u activate gprs

costlier (as it comes with 1 yr warranty and earlier model in grey markt)

The original NGAGE has in-built stereo sound processor i.e. DSp processor. And NGAGE QD's sound is MONO only and is no match to the
original's excellent sound quality.
So keep in mind if going in for looks go for QD else for all the features
go for NGAGE original.
