I too sugest to stick to Transcend. I have bought the same player and found it to be quite good for the amount paid (good value for money). Be aware that you will have to shell out Rs.1500-2000 for a pair of earphones. I recomend a Sony Fontopia In-Ear earphone which deliver good sound clarity as well as thumping bass.

There is nothing, not even iPod, which can compete with Cowon Mp3 players. For 1 GB, it costs Rs.6500/-(all inclusive). This month's Chip Magazine has given it top rating, ahead of iPod. I am using it myself and the sound quality is simply outstanding.
