hi guys, i am using vista from the past 20 days. now i am experiencing a weird problem... whenever i start playing an avi file format, it strucks. but thats not it. instead it shows an error message saying that "COM surrogate has stopped working"
what does it mean??? whats the solution for that??? anybody has experienced the similar problem in their pc???

@kenshin is right !!! and also install a windows media decoder and encoder available at www.microsoft.com\downloads

i am using nero 7.5.9.0 premium, its latest i think. i havent installed divx, instead i am using vlc player latest. and i didnt find windows media encoder & decoder....

ffd show alone will solve this problem? what about k lite mega codec pack?
