hey guyz, wen i start ma system , its saying "Error loading Operating System".. nothing else comes.. Cant even enter safe mode using F8 at start up.. wats wrong wid ma sys???

MBR is gone.. Boot from windows CD into recovery mode and type "fixmbr"

mbr is erased or overwritten .....have u just erased a linux installation...if yes then gimmie ur id i'll mail you a detail procedure..it happened with me

^^ Why do you need his ID? Why cant you post the "detailed procedure" here itself for others to refer in the future?

kalpik , but d problem is i cant even boot from XP cd.. i gave Boot device priority to CD/DVD drive then to hd, even then when i start ma sys wid XP cd inserted , i get d same error-Error loading OS..Mihirvashist ma id is- pragadheesh_t@yahoo.co.in

Hmm.. That's not possible! Try booting from another CD, maybe the CD you have is corrupted. If you cannot boot from ANY CD, then probably there is something wrong with your Motherboard/BIOS.
