Registry Fails to open
Guys.
My laptop runs windows media centre.... the problem is regedit doesn't open....
Upon typing in run... a message saying "Registry editing has been disabled by your administrator" is shown...
Its ridiculous coz i'm the only user and has no user account in the name of Administrator....
Just one profile named "LENOVO"
What do i do....???

Click Start, Run and type this command exactly as given below: (better - Copy and paste)
REG add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Pol icies\System /v DisableRegistryTools /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f
Now, you should be able to launch the Registry Editor.

Re: Registry Fails to open
Download this registry entry:
Registry edit enable
Just download it. Then right-click 'Run'.
Now you should be able to edit the registry.

Re: Registry Fails to open
Open gpedit.msc and goto:
User Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> System
and in right-side pane, change
Prevent access to registry editing tools
to either
Not Configured
or
disabled
.
