Default Icon Lost from my My Computer


Well! The drive Icon of my C: drive in the My Computer folder has disappeared. I tried to re-build the icons but it did not work out. below is the link to the screenshot

How many logical drives do you have apart from primary C:.

ya I forgot to tell , apart from primary drive I have one more drive connected as slave the drive letter are C: and D: for the primary drive having two partitions. and F: and G: for the secondary drive having two partitions, icons on all the drives is visible but only not visible for the C: drive only.

This happens if u play some Autorun CDs and by chance the AutoRun.inf file in the system gets corrupted.Do you had any CD with that icon?
Follow the steps given here:-

OR
Use softwares such as Axialis Icon Workshop or MicroAngelo or IconPackager to change icons:-

ya thanxs a lot it works out this time the microsofts way (KB article) but I am running WnXP, anyways, it works!!
