Re: help required
This can be a virus. Log on into safe mode and run a virus scan with your antivirus- remove the ones which are infected.Run a spyware scan with Spybot and remove the spyware. Install all the security updates.

Re: help required
1. Run services.msc and check if Help and Support Services is started. If not, right-click on it and select Start.
2. What is the Find Target Tab? In which application? Do you get an error? What is the error message?
3. Do you get an error when you try to open IE7? What is the error message? Did it work earlier?
4. No clue regarding wmp11...
Try the following: 1. Run CCleaner and clean your registry. 2. Enter safe mode and run antivirus, antispyware and sfc checks. 3. Defragment your harddisk.

Re: help required
I am having this exact same problem. IE7 will open, but not display a status bar, won't connect to homepage, if you type in an address it says it's currently unavailble. The option drop downs in the upper right corner appear, but won't open anything. Only way to close the browser is to end the process in task manager.
My PC is setup with two accounts. IE7 works in one but not the other. I've tried re-installing IE7 but it didn't help. FireFox works fine in both accounts.
I've run RegClean. AntiVir Guard finds nothing. Microsoft Malicious Removal Tool finds nothing. ZoneAlarm finds nothing. I tried System Restore to a check point 3 days old, but it said nothing had changed.
I also tried to create a new account, and IE7 is goofy under that account too.
Bizarre!
