Quicklaunch and also MyComputer problem

1) This days whenever I clicks on any icon in Taskbar Quicklaunch, my taskbar freezes for quite some time. any solution ????????????????

2) Also when I clicks on My Computer icon on my desktop, the window opens, but then some torch serching animation is there for a long time befor the drives, etc is displayed. also then the ArangeIconsBy setting is disturbed and I have to again set it by clicking set icons by type and showingroups. what problem, any solution here also.

Since how long have u installed windows?
Ever tried defragmenting and cleaning up free space?

as Lucky Star said, clean up the Free Space.
for that use the InBuilt "Disk CleanUp" or CCleaner or TuneUp Utilities 2007.

Clear the "My Recent Documents", "Prefetch folder" ( <-If you havent done this for 2 months)
