Why the Minidisc is costlier !!!

I wanted to know why a Blank minidisc is costlier than a regular CD. I guess the raw material required for minidisc is lesser than that for a regular CD ... but why this difference .. Any ideas ?

Because the production is lesser, and u r charged for the novelty of the product. it being costly is total BS but this is how it is.

BTW, did you know that a Floppy disk costs Rs.40 while a CD costs 10.

Yeah, 10 Floppy disks pack of Sony costs around 130/- Rs. For the same price you
can buy 10 CDs of Sony or Moser Baer!!
Floppy is obselete!! Any product that's new in the market will cost more!!

I've only ever bought a minidisc(Sony, for that matter) once a couple of years back and it costed me around 45-50 Rs.; this was in Mumbai, mind you.
