SDRAM or DDR SDRAM

Dear friends,

Please clarify me about RAM fandas!

I am having P-3, 650 Hz, 128 SD RAM @ 100 and also 133 sticks.


I am told that the better RAM is DDR SDRAM. I am also told that SDRAM and DDR RAM are not interchangeable. Either I have to fix SDRAM stick or DDR RAM Stick but both cannot be simultaneously..


I wanted to upgrade to 256 MB DDR Ram @ 400 Mhz.

Will this 256MB DDR Ram 400@Mhz Ram compatible with my PC configuration? Will these new stick be fitted into the SDRAM slots?

Also what is the difference between SD RAM and DDR SD RAM?

No the Sd ram cannot fit into the DDR Ram slot ..
DDR ram has twice the speed of SD ram..the main difference
Sd ram has 168 Pin connector
While DDr has 184 Pin connector so you cannot upgrade the same on your present motherboard.
