coustmise desktop!! help

hi friends... I am using xp pro sp2. The icons appear on desktop on left side(default). could it be fixed any other corner or side of desktop.

why not doc !? can u not just drag them to wherever u want them ? in that case uncheck 'lock web items on desktop'. then point to the icon, left click on it and just drag it... then rt click on the desktop, and in 'arrange icons by' check/uncheck autoarrange, align to grid, lock, as per us personal preferences.
