If I remember correctly when you right click on the floppy drive there was an option to create copy of the disk and then you can always write it to a floppy. Sorry haven used Floppy for ages

you can use winimage or ultra iso to create floppy's bootable image. then use this image for any > floppy/cd/dvd

or you can make a bootable floppy from windows 98 itself using two ways

either making floopy bootable by using this command at command prompt

"format a: /s" and then copying the need files to it i.e cd drivers and small utilities
or
by using Create bootable floopy from "Add Remove program" which is in control panel. didnt know the name correctly but u'll find it there try switching tabs once there (you need win98 cd or its dump for this step)

Best thing is to visit http://www.bootdisk.com/ and download the required bootdisk for your operating system (There are wide range of choices available there).

Now simply insert a floppy and double click on the downloaded EXe file and you're done !!!

Just in case you "toast" your floppy!!! you can try HD-COPY or T-Format

@DukeNukem copying floppy by right clickin the Floppy drive copies the formatting as well so the result will be a Bootable floppy as well ....

@aX3 you can use Nero to create bootable CD/DVD but obviously not from Floppy Disk ...

@ax3

Here is the Solution if u want to take a image of a Floppy and Mount it later on the Floppy Disk

Floppy Image Creator 5 is a powerful utility that enables users to create images from the physical floppy disks, extract files or complete folders from a floppy disk image and create floppy disks from image files. Virtual floppy drive and creating of self-extracting (SFX) floppy image archives are supported as well. Floppy Image Creator is excellent software for creating floppy disks archives.

if your exisiting 98bootable floppy disk has enough space to hold that file then you can place the file in the floppy, then make an image of the floppy.
else
with floppy its not possible

why dont you try this

as i've told you before

make a floppy bootable by formatting it as bootable
format a: /s (this will copy system files in floppy)
then add the required files like exe's (i.e format, smartdrive.exe) and
the cd drivers to access the cd from dos.

thats it this is your customised bootable floppy for windows98
