Angry !!! Unknown Device !!!


I use asus a8n-e mobo... In the device manager i have an 'unknown device' under 'other device'. I have installed the latest audio and chipset driver from the asus website... what is this device? how to install driver for this device???

device info :

The properties of the device shows the following info:

device type : other device
Manufacturer : unknown
Location : On pci bus

Device status :

The drivers for this device are not installed. ( Code 28 )


OS used by me is Win XP MCE 2005..

Please help me regarding this...

try booting knoppix Linux livecd and issue "lspci" for a display of available devices.

What devices have you installed in your system? Common devices installes in PCI slots:
> Lan cards
> Tv tuners
> bluetooth cards
To install drivers you need to know what device it is.
Could you provide a screenshots of the device properties window and device manager?


ps: you could try everest pro. to identify the device.
