New Spkrs+Sound Card

Hey guys,

I hv Win XP Pro on an Intel D865 GBF mobo, I want to buy a new Speaker with sound card. My budget is Rs.2000/- (+/-Rs.500) excluding Sound card cost.

I already hv a 2.1 speaker from Mercury that has given way and is in its last stage of Death. So i DO NOT want a 2.1 spkr setup but a bit higher than that. Also since for respectable sound quality, I would need a sound card so please suggest me a good brand wich is value for money too.

I will be using the speakers for Games and Songs. I do need a respectable quality and performance out of the speakers but I am not into Precision type of clarity so a Hi Fi cost of Speakers will not be needed by me.Just an above average speaker setup will do for me.

You don't want a 2.1 setup but you can only spend 2.5k? That will get you a really crappy sounding 5.1 setup.
If you want 5.1 speakers, be ready to spend atleast 7k. Anything less than that will just sound crappy.

In your budget I suggest you get Altec Lansing ATP3 2.1 speakers or Creative Inspire 4.1. Both cost about Rs. 2600.
For the sound card get Creative Audigy Value. I don't know the cost but it should be about 2.5k.

Thanx for the reply But are there any 4.1 spkrs in the same price rang or in Rs.3K price range?I want a spkr wich plays sounds and mp3 to a loud volume without any interference or internal noise.
