go to C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc
open host file. add the following entry to it

127.0.0.1 www.orkut.com

save it. replace the old one with this new one.

use host manager utility from http://www.aldostools.com/hosts.html to achieve this; its easier.

Cool Re: how to block a website

The fool proof way is to enable Content Advisor using IE
Its located under IE -> Internet Options -> Content -> Content Advisor

Just enable it and it will prompt you for a password to allow or deny a site to be visited

Sooner or later, your brother might smell something fishy. So try Cybersitter.
Cybersitter blocks websites silently and shows up a blank page so that the user might think that the site is down.

Other sites continue to work as normal.

You can use CyberPatrol (http://www.cyberpatrol.com/), NetNanny (http://www.netnanny.com/).

Using these Parental control softwares you can monitor the browsing patterns of
users, block porn, limit the time spent online, block websites & so on.
