400 MHz RAM on 266 MHz MBO???

My CPU & ChipSet is Intel Pentium 4 1.9 GHz Intel 845GL which supports 266 MHz ram. if i install 400 MHz RAM, will it be able to read it??? It will show 266 MHz RAM but it will read it, right???

I m planning to buy 2 X 512 MB DDR KINGSTON RAM. And also is SAMSUNG 160 GB HDD (non-SATA) compatible with it???

Which brand of RAM is better KINGSTON, TRANSCEND or HYNIX ????

Yes ur RAM will work on the mobo. But whats the point of going in for a 400 mhz unless ur plannin to upgrade ur mobo in the future....

yes .. it will work at lower frequency .. ie the frequency of mobo

i actually have a 400 ram on my 233 mobo right now .. ( its my friend's )
its working peacefully ..

but .. when i searched google about it ..
i found that its never reccomended .. i cant exactly say y!

its going to be good for your future upgrades , well mebby its not recomended ,but technically it should run ok , but it will run @266mhz

c'mon man u still stuck with the 845s take my advice if u have the bucks go n get a 875 or a 865 get two Transcend DDR400, 256MB modules. Get them in dual channel and get a killer rig. I am having a great XPerience with my 865.
As for RAM Brand if money is no a matter get the transend. They are worth the Xtra bucks, If u find them costly get the Hynix ones. Don't know much 'bout the Kinston ones
