Internal coz its better, cheaper and readily available.

External is always the last resort.

To do away with the confusion, External tvtuners are of two types - set-top box based and USB.

External USB based tv-tuners card can record videos! No one even cares to check out the link.

Dear,

If you have any chance to buy a notebook buy external so you can use in both systems, it is wrong thing that with external tv tuner card you cant record. I am recording with my external tv tuner card very smoothly, my tuner is not branded one , it is using empia chip

yeah, i've seen many external tvtuner cards which aren't branded and can record, but,as conventional knowledege tells us, it is better to stick to the branded internal one if you want to good performace and after-sales support

External cards give better quality because other components in the cabinet interfere with the signal in internal cards.

It is the other way around. The external pinnacle 100e left me wanting for more. So if you have a desktop PC, it would be better off getting some internal ones unless ofcourse you plan to get a laptop in near future.

Do we have any dual tv tuner cards available in India ?
(Single card with two engines). Its useful when using one channel to view and another for recording at same time. saves money and time.

That depends on the particular model in question, but in general external tuners are free from a lot of interference that internal tuners are exposed to.
