'helpctr.exe' ctr not found

hey guys, now i clicked on the help and support button on control panel, and it said that 'helpctr.exe' not found, can someone tell me where i can get this file and where i have to place it, please?

I found it in two locations:
C:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386
C:\WINDOWS\PCHEALTH\HELPCTR\Binaries

I can send you the file if you want and ofcourse if its legal!

If the files are not present in those locations then there must be registry key corruption.

In your Reigstry Editor,
Goto HKLocalMachine\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentV ersion\App Paths\HELPCTR.EXE. Then create a new String value named Default. And assign the 'Value data' as "C:\WINDOWS\PCHealth\HelpCtr\Binaries\HelpCtr. exe" without double quotes. Change the system folder location correspondingly.

but if its illegal in india..oh well

why not try "System File Check"

To do this simply go to the Run box on the Start Menu and type in:

sfc /scannow

i think your PC MAYBE infected with a VIRUS, coz there's no way of this "helpctr.exe" Deletion.
i also had this similar problem, but with the "TaskManager" (taskman.exe),
i was not able to open TaskManager thru shortcut keys or thru its icon in sys folder.
i ran a Virus Scan in safe mode & then did the SFC, then my problem solved.

(AVG Free found 3 virus, i dont remember their name, it happened 7-8 months ago)
