Which is the best shell replacement?
Talisman,Style XP or others like WindowBlinds.

Style XP... as it simply lets you use **third party** Visual Styles (.MSSTYLES Files).... also LogonUI and NTOSKERNEL replacements.. and trasparency to Windows UI also...

2.16 Version just realed b4 few days...

All other comes with bling blang... so I don't like anything except StyleXP....

Style XP is not **FREE**... you can also get WindowsX's UXTheme.DLL Patcher to patch Windows to support **third party** Visual Styles... [/b]

Doubtlessly http://www.astonshell.com/ (ASTON) for best looks with minimum strain/stress 4 the computer. But needs lot of adjustments for ur perfect desktop.

Go 4 StyleXP or Talisman... otherwise.

BUT... THEY R ALL SHAREWARE.

Style Xp u can c my desktop in the desktop thread. Believe me its too good.

Thanks guys.
I finally got the right combination.I am using WindowBlinds for the themes as
its range of themes is quite large and good. I am using StyleXP for changing my boot screen and logon screen.Maybe I will use it to change the visual styles once I come across a good theme.

guys longhorn transofrmation also looks damn good. BTW it's there in this months DVD

and i am using windows blind in my ME thanks to andy!

you pointed it right .. StyleXP isnt actually a shell replacement ..
its just like skinning windows .. nothing else ..

Aston is truly a shell replacement ..
ie, if you dont have a folder open, you can see that there wont be any explorer.exe running !

What I ever meant was any software which would change the default XP look, be it a skinning utility or a shell replacement

neither is windows Blinds...
It's a major Resource hogger...
I didn't use it after te first time...

Aston ROCKS!!!!
No explorer.exe crashes....
