Which DVD Writer among these is the best??
I am planning to buy a DVD writer.Only thse models are available.
Sony DRU 820A
Sony Dg120Q(or something like that)
Samsung(dont knw the model)
Pioneer(" " " " ")
So which one is the best in performance??

Samsung is a big no-no.
AFAIK, Sony DRU820A is good.

People here keep telling Sony is the best cause they havent heard of/used Pioneer personally. I had a CD ROM long back and it was great. Now a member, Shiva007 I think has it and it was surely better than Sony man, worth the extra price as its not popular in India.
About models am not sure cause we only get ASUS drives at my location, not exact Pioneer drives. But it is definitely the way to go.

I would say "stay away" from sony. Their warranty is crap (if you ever need it). Better be safe. And yeah a sony can *never* match the quality of a pioneer.

Well pioneer drives are grea argeed but what if something goes wrong? How many service centres are there compared to Sony? That's one thing to consider, IMO.

Dont buy SamSung DVD Writer!!! Sony DRU 820A is a very good product. Mine is
Sony DRU 820A. I'm using it for the past 8 months without any problems. I have not
tested Pioneer. It maybe good. But I don't have any Pioneer service center in my place!!
So, if you want to buy a Pioneer DVD writer, first check whether you have any Pioneer
Service centers in your place!!

Thanks for everybody's help guys.With the advices of everyone of you,I thought which one to buy.Poneer or sony.But at last I decided to buy pioneer.Thanks again for giving everybodies attention towards me.thanks for the help guys.
I bought a pioneer drive.The model is pioneer DVR-111D.If somebody have anything to quote about this drive,dont be panic,just let it out
