Maybe the BIOS is infected with a virus that prevents the PC from booting!!!

NO BIOS problem I guess.
It happened to my 3 yr old compaq PC.
It couldn't even count my whole RAM and hanged before that (I had 760MB RAM).
Does it count ram very slowly like half a min for 64 MB???
Well it is a ram slot problem.
Problem in IC and/or capacitor of RAM slot.
It can get repaired for around Rs 500.
