Default Wireless Connectivity Advice needed

Guys, this is urgent!

My office is right now on a wired network. We are constucting an audio studio at the basement. The wires will thus have to come upto the first floor (passing through the ground floor walls) to the switch. We will also be having the file backup server at the basement. So for sending a file from a studio system to the server, it will have to pass through the switch thereby transversing 4 floors. There are no repeaters in between.

I was considering going for a wireless connection atleast for the 3 studios in the basement. But this is what I got from our computer vendor.
Quote:
When we consider wireless, we are compromising the network speed. WiFi has its own limitations so please keep that in mind. LoS is also important in the case of Wifi. So if there is brick wall, then there will be signal loss. In your case especially in studio, walls sound proof too. So to make all three studios WiFi enabled, it is necessary to have three WiFi Access points placed in all three studios and connected by UTP. If we do it like this, the strength of signal will be good in studios.
I am extremely confused. I was told by our consultant that one access point is enough for the entire basement. But this vendor differs. Additionally, going by the suggestion of this vendor, there really isn't any benefit of installing the accesspoints as the data still has to go through the switch at the first floor.

I have no experience with wireless and so am looking for some advise or tips based on your experience.

Thanks in advance. (Gotta send the proposal for purchase today!!)
