You have to cut down as much as possible on the mobo and processor to get a good enough graphics card. I recommend the following:

Asus A8N-VM Rs. 3900 (supports DDR RAM only)
Athlon64 3000+ Rs. 3400
Geforce 7600GS Rs. 7700

Total Rs. 15,000

Take a look at this:
AMD Athlon 3500+: 5400
Asus A8NE: 5500
7600GS: 6500
------------------------17400/-

but its really worth it.
U can oc the proc to extreme values nd go even higher if u have quality RAMs.
deathvirus_me in this forum has same proc+ mobo. Ask him bout perfomance.

7600GS is not just Rs. 6500. It's atleast 7.5-8k.

I presume you have 128+512 MB RAM. Use the 512 MB chip you already have and get another 512 MB one (Rs. 2200) if your budget permits.

If you can extend your budget to include the 3500+, then do so otherwise settle for the 3000+. But don't compromise on the graphics card.

You can check the prices here http://www.deltapage.com/

Then what about :INTEL 820-PENTIUM D 2.8GHZ 800FSB LGA775
Mtherboard compatible with it like Gigabyte GA-K8N51GMF-9 (GeForce 6100/nForce 430).
Will an intel motherboard support an AMD processor?

no it wil not support.. go in for the d102ggc2 + pentium d 805 with a gud card n ram.. mayb a maximum ul have to extend is to 17.5 to 19K.. if u minus ram then 17K.. but then i suggest uextend as i can assure u.. the games that come now n that come a bit later will struggle to run in a AMD 3000+wit 512MB and some lower end card.. if its for games try to invest a few more thousands.. its a bit worth..

even am a AMD fan..but after using this sytem of my friend i feel the intel is a bit morefaster..

check out the d102ggc2 mobo in the intel site.. it support PIV,PD and Celeron.. so u can change proccy later too..
http://www.intel.com/products/mother...ggc2/index.htm

the board will cost u about 5K and the procc u choose.. the PIV 3.2 800mhz FSB is about 5500 so it comes to 10500 or 11K max.. then this has a inbuilt ati radeon X300 64 MB shared,DDR2 is also supported and it has a PCI-Express slot.. 16X.. the price of 7600 GS 256MB is about 6K or the Ati Radeon X1600 Pro PCI-E 512 Mb which is 6900 u can say 7K..
