Exclamation Audio Failure

I bought RS480 Mainboard in Mar'2006 . Last month I tried capturing Music from audio cassette tape by connecting the stereo system in line-in socket of computer. It worked fine. I could record 5 songs through windows XP Sound recorder. After the stereo system was disconnected and the system is booted nextday, audio failure was noticed.

I tried reloading device drivers from the CD supplied with Mainboard. I re-installed Windows XP OS but no use. Device manager shows that sound card is working properly. If the onboard sound chip is blown off, device manager would have indicated with yellow mark which is not so in my case.Speakers are OK.

Please let me know how to fix this problem.

Dont believe the infos displayed on device manager it may show that "working properly" but actually it may not.. coz windows examins those hardwares in a DIFFERENT way..
recently my modem stopped working.. but in device manager i observed "working properly" status..

while recording audio from cassette, you must have used line-in and forgot to change the settings. Go to volume control properties and select playback.
