PC Shutdowning

My pc config is as follows

AMD 64 3200+
ASUS A8N SLI DELUXE
512 MB ram
GeFORCE 6200TC

problem is when i connect my modem the machine keeps shutdowning.
is it due to hardware incompactability.
Modem is D-link.
PLz help me

True, it is a driver problem, get the latest ones from the manufactueres site.

wait! your computer shuts down when you connect your modem to your PC or when you connect to internet.

If your computer shuts down when you connect to internet. Then their are two problems . First may be the driver problem(check your modem vendor site) or a virus(TROJAN) ,get it checked by a good antivirus software.

First try that much!

ruthless in case u get such a msg : The system process lsass.exe terminated unexpectedly...The system will now shut down and restart...
then check this : system shutting down: please save all work in progress and log off
