Default B/w to Colour-Image Conversion.

I just wanna know.
How they converted Mughal-E-Azam from B/w to Colour??

Its very hard to do so frame by frame.
It takes upto 5 minutes to colour a single frame.
A 3 hour movie contains lakhs of frames.

Please contribute your suggestions.

Yup...

They did it frame by frame...
Actually it's not that difficult... coz every consequetive frame is not totally different from the other... there are only minor movements...

But it also took time... I think about 2yrs....
And it SUCKED too!!
