i think u can use sfc - system file checker

sfc is used to restore all the lost, missin, corrupted, or "modified" system files.

try it but be sure not to replace those system files which u know u have updated

i dunno wether this wud help coz sfc is used for only recovering system files... but give it a try...

Help files can not be installed from SFC.
If u r facing problems with hlp files related to some standard accessories, try reinstalling them with the "Add/Remove Windows Components" from the Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel.
