I have noticed many person's have a caption like "In-House Geek" etc. Mine is "Analogue Novice". How do I change this? Also many person's signature has pictures. How do I add one for mine?

The "caption" increases with post count, i.e. the number of posts you make in this forum, but unnescessary posts just to make the post count higher can get you locked out of the forum. So beware and have patience.
As for your secund question you can upload any picture at sites like http://www.photobucket.com/ and then just copy->paste the image url in your signature box in your profile. That should do it.
