need help.

Hi guys,
need little help.
1. i cant remove safe remove hardware icon frm my startup.it shows my SATA hard dive- "ST3802110AS''.i tried to remove it with msconfig but in vain.but today i run "SISoftware Sandra" which i found frm this month's dvd & check Physical disks from hardware tab.then my comp restated instantly. it shows error msg 'ur system recovered frm serious ...' .Can any one tell me why this occured ? & how can i remove 'safe remove hardware' frm startup.

2.i want to make winxp starting up faster.want to do these 2 things below.

enable boot defragmentation, so that files used during start-up are clubbed together.

disable : "clear page file on shutdown" option

tell me how can i? plz help....

1.) Thats not a starup entry but seems some problem with either ur HDD or its drivers!

2.) Start -> Run and type regedit.

a.) Enable boot defragmentation: Nevigate to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Dfrg\BootOpt imizeFunction

in right-side pane, change the value of Enable to Y

b.) Clear pagefiles at shutdown: Nevigate to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Session Manager\Memory Management

in right-side pane, create DWORD value ClearPageFileAtShutdown and set its value to 1

Enable boot defrag is default set.For Clear pagefiles at shutdown..i have changed the value.

But my 1st problem is not solved yet. can any one help ?
