Start -> Run and type gpedit.msc, in:

User Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> System

Set Prevent access to registry editing tools to Not Configured.

PS: Also check ur system with a good anti-virus coz a virus also causes for such condition...

User Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> System -> Ctrl+Alt+Del Options

Change Remove Task Manager to either Not Configured or Disabled.

vishals knowledge about the registry is quite impressive !

u too could build up ur knowledge about it by learning from his tips. also do refer the latest free registry tips booklet grom the digit mag. its xclnt.

also can download The Registry Guide for Windows from http://www.winguides.com/registry/

also check out WinTricks 4.0 from www.wintips-inc.com

incidentally u can always enable the task manager ALSO by adding the registry tweak from http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm or http://www.dougknox.com/xp/utils/xp_emerutils.htm

How do you enable Registry Editing again if it has been disabled by your administrator?

If it's a Registry hack, then ask @Vishal. He will solve your problem.
See, this guy resides in the Registry!!
