Default Can Any Geek Repair My Registry ??? Raaabo, DeXter.. Help!!

My Windows XP Professional with SP2 Is Installed in C: Drive !

Straight To the Prob..

I was editing registry, Successfuly Moved.. My Document, Shared Document to D: drive!

I also found success in moving Shared Picture to Shared Document in D Drive & Moving Shared Music & Shared Vedio to F: Drive.

Now to The Next stage;

I wanted to move my profile(Including the 'TEMP' folder) to My Document folder (Now in D: Drive)
So I edited Registry;

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders]
&
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders]

I edited The Envournment Variable to move the Temp Folder. (My Computer > Properties > System Properties > Advanced > Envournment Variable)

But After That every thing Went Terribly Wrong I lost My Shared Picture directory Where I had a Hell lot of Pictures & ......

Lots of problem Has Spawned;

1) Cannot Use Alt + Ctrl + Del , It says Task Manager Has Been Disabled by your Administrator.

2) Cannot Enable System Restore (Every Thing got turned off after editing registry)

3) Cannot Access Computer Managment !

If U need More Info please Tell Me.

Tried Reparing Using Windows XP CD But No Use

I tried moving the Profile using User profile Section (Windows Managment)
But, It takes a lot of time to logIn (So Dumped the Idea)

Can Any One Help ??? I Need some Expert's Idea !!!

Did you backup your registry before editing it ?

You should have used tools like TweakXP or X-Setup to move default folders to different locations.

1.To enable task manager download this reg patch & double click it.
Enable Task Manager

2.Enable systme restore Patch

3.I dont know about your third problem.

The next time you decide to screw your registry take a backup first.It saves your a** big time. :roll:

huh?
First make sure the system restore service is running from services.msc.
start>run>services.msc
Set it to automatic.
Enable system restore from Group Policy editor.
Start>run>gpedit.msc
Computer Configuration>Administration Templates
Set Turn of system restore & Turn of configuration>Not Configured.

Please definately try this tip....

Run msconfig.exe...
if it runs well and good...

If it doesn't...
Reaname it and then run it...
If it runs tis time...
There is definately a virus or spyware...

Coz my brother got the same problem....

If you suspect a virus code lurking in your system registry, run a system cleaner like Trend Micro's tsc. It's a standalone companion to their PC-cillin AV prog, a free download and very effective.

There's Not a Virus, It's Got to be a Mega Virus !!!

I Formatted 'C' Drive & ReInstalled Windows XP, (Everything Ran Fine) But What The Hell.... as soon as I connected to the net (I suppose) The problem Started All over Again!

the same is true in my case too. task manager just shows a green icon in systray for a few seconds and disappears. Also, when I open Windows/Fonts folder, explorer closes. I have used Tweak UI too for repairing Fonts folder. Regedit too closes on its own
