Using an RSS reader-will it result in reduced bandwidth usage??
Hi!I am on BSNL's Home 250 Plan(0.4GB bandwidth limit) and paranoid about exhausting my allotted bandwidth.
My question is :will using an RSS reader to access RSS enabled sites like the Mozilla extensions site showing recently updated extensions lead to reduced b/w usage than actually opening up the pages??
Thanx!

Ya... RSS Feeds only show content which you need.. But the draw back is not every site show full content in the RSS Feed. Majority give some starting words and give Read More links.. Others may only give link for the article ony. So it may not be used for all sites if you are concerned about bandwidth.
I use Opera and selectively block images from different sites to get only content and Cache management of Opera is efficient that it doesnt fetch the images again and again if u r a regular visitor of a site. Donno about Firefox.
