well i think DOS 7 is ont available for retail sale , and it's illegal to distribute it .

yeah that's the best . but for simple purposes you can use freedos .

I did not understand what is this FreeDOS. I have read in advertisements, branded PCs provide FreeDOS in their cheap PCs.

So what is this FreeDOS thing. Is not DOS a copyrighted product of MS ? Does it have any good functionality ? For what purpose it is used.

I am also comlpetely ignorant about the history of DOS,WINDOWS, heard some where about a controvercy between bill gates and apple long ago.

Can anyone give me the clear picture of the time when all the 3 major OSes WINDOWS,MAC,LINUX started
