GO for PC cillin. Norton is resource hungry.

norton is a resource sucker, go for kaspersky( i myself installed on batty's advice). norton did not even detect some threats , and the same was detected by kaspersky.
use once and we all will tell kaspersky is good.

Nothing is best
No anti virus is fully perfect...
1)Norton does not detect a virus embedded in a file(merged with another exe)
2)Mcafee does not detect at all(Stinger is an exception)
3)Zonealarm is prone to ack flooding and it can also be patched using runtime infection techniques8)
4)McAfee Firewall and tiny firewall are also of no use.
5)Norton Av can also be finsihed by using a program newly designed ..Dun wanna mention the name
So kasperksy can also be defeated in the mere future 8)

AVG is ultimate!
N its free. It detects all minor viruses too which norton fails to detect. It is low on resources... fast 2 update!
Don't go 4 PC heal.......It gets all viruses bt dsn't have a virus vault

I have to agree with you
I have never seen a devil like avg...
It ruins all my plans .. So nice that even a single trojan, variant,or a worm can't get past it.. Its free of cost .. It denies access to the infected phile.

As already said, no AV software is perfect. Personally I dislike Norton because it tries to exercise too much control. I like PC-cillin's user interface and it's pretty good at detection too. AVG's quite good too and the big point in its favour is that it's free.
PC-cillin's companion TSC is useful for rooting out virus code that's hidden in system registry and cannot be flushed out by normal AV. TSC is a free standalone product by Trend Micro, the makers of PC-cillin.
