Default error reading discs

There are a few CD's which I own which are in unbranded CD's. They are more than 3 months old and off late I get a problem with some of them. Whenever i try to install something which is in them I get the following error:

Data error: cyclic redundancy check in data.cab

I think mostly the CD is damaged. Any way to retreive the files in the CD ?

try using Alcohol 120% to recover data from those discs.

Alchol 120 is good but dont think it will help much with the Cab file .
1) Try cleaning the Cd's with soap water & dry under Fan....
2) Try tabacoo rubbing on the cd...
3) Hydrogen peroxide in the last may help
